An award-winning perennial that charms with whimsical stems laden with soft, open-faced blooms. Monet's famous lily pond is surrounded by these water-loving plants. They want moist, but not soggy soil and thrive in sun to part-shade areas. Blooms late summer to mid-fall.
These slow-growing plants require patience, but will be 2' tall with foliage and up to 4' tall with blooms. They will spread to be about 2' wide.
They prefer acidic to neutral soil and, when happy, will give you up to a month of blooms and will spread through rhizomes--naturalizing your space. Mulch to keep roots cool without suffocating the crown of the plant. Water deeply and regularly during the first season to establish a healthy root system. Cut to the ground at the end of the season.
Attracts pollinators and makes a fantastic cut flower.
Pickup this Saturday at Brookside Farmer's Market or on-site at the farmstand located in south KC off of Red Bridge and Holmes Rd. Address given after checkout.
